IRCTC Gets CWG Catering Contract

NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), has added a new feather to its cap after it received the contract to provide the catering services to the participants as well as the VVIPs of the upcoming Commonwealth Games (CWG). The deal to take the responsibility of the catering services during the CWG is indeed a significant achievement for the IRCTC which is a distinct wing of the Indian Railways. As per the terms of the contract, the IRCTC would be in charge of providing meals to the athletes, officials as well as the VVIPs who would be associated with the CWG.
While revealing details of the contract that has been given to IRCTC, a senior official of the corporation told a leading news source that the decision to give the contract to IRCTC was taken by Commonwealth Games Committee keeping in mind the quality and the standard of food that is served and throughout maintained by the Indian Railways wing. In the meanwhile, a senior official of IRCTC has revealed to media that the Indian Railways wing is going to take all the necessary steps to ensure that the catering services provided to the CWG officials is up to the mark and IRCTC can fulfill the expectations of the members of the committee.
According to A.K. Jha who is the IRCTC regional manager of Patna, an estimated 300 to 500 IRCTC staff would be involved in providing the catering services to the athletes as well as the host of other prominent dignitaries who would gracing the event when it commences in the national capital from October 3.
