Macho Men Preferred By Women

SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- In an almost disheartening result for the men who call themselves metro-sexual, a new study claims that women still prefer the ‘Macho Men‘. The study published in the journal ‘Psychology of Men and Masculinity’ has claimed that modesty in men and therefore women choose the men who are defined as ‘Macho‘. The study was conducted on 132 women and 100 men who were shown a 15 minute video of an interview of different actors. The men who showed modesty were less preferred but women showing the quality were at an advantage with the men.

The objective of the study for the researchers was to determine whether liberating the men from the traditional bonds of masculinity would be beneficial. The result, however, indicated the complete opposite of the expectations. Modesty which can be attributed to the non-macho men has been seen to be sexually unattractive for women and also considered a disadvantage for a man’s employment and earning potential. For men the preferences in women were not the expected ones either. The study has shown that men want women be other-oriented and not dominant. The women are also allowed to be weak whereas the quality is strictly unappreciated in men. Men on the other hand are preferred to be dominating, self focused and independent.

The researchers have stressed that modesty may not actually hamper the job prospects of a male. The study explains the perception of the modest men by the opposite sex only. Considering the results of the survey, the macho men can now sit back and continue watching TV as their women do the dishes and clean the toilets.
