Obama meets with McChrystal, security team

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama meets Wednesday with his top commander in Afghanistan, whose job is on the line after he made disparaging remarks about administration officials in a published interview.

The head-to-head meeting between Obama and Gen. Stanley McChrystal is expected to take place before the president’s regular monthly war meeting with his entire national security team.

In the afternoon, the president and first lady Michelle Obama will attend an event for the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Nutrition in Washington’s Columbia Heights neighborhood.
