JAMMU - Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram arrived here Thursday to take stock of the security situation and political developments in Jammu and Kashmir.
JAMMU - Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram will visit Jammu and Kashmir on February 3 to review the security situation and also to take stock of the political developments in the state.
JAMMU - Demanding a special census for lakhs of nomadic and semi-nomadic of Jammu and Kashmir, the Gujjar- Bakerwals today expressed distress over the exclusion of nomads during house listing and preparation of National Population Register in first phase held between June and September 2010.
JAMMU - A day after the Jammu and Kashmir cabinet decided to hold the budget session of the state legislature from Feb 28, Governor N.N. Vohra Saturday formally summoned the session.
JAMMU - The ruling National Conference has decided not to incorporate Indian constitutional amendments in Jammu and Kashmir's panchayati raj laws to set up zila parishads or district councils and insists that the state's existing laws are best suited for devolving power to people at the grassroots level.
