Gatwick Airport Closed Till Tomorrow

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM (GaeaTimes.com)- The second busiest airport of Britain has been closed down due to incessant snowfall and wind that is sweeping across the UK. As a matter of fact, the transport system in UK has been severely affected by the snowstorm and inclement weather that shows no sign of improving. Gatwick airport has been closed for some time and this has put the fliers in dire trouble. The services of intercontinental fast train transit Eurostar has also been disrupted. The trains in London are also running behind schedule. The Gatwick airport spokespersons have said that they have employed the cleaning staff at the airport abut despite their best efforts the runways are getting covered with snow fast. This has forced them to postpone all flights for some time.
The passengers stranded at the Gatwick airport are being taken care of said the airport officials. They are being helped to get accommodation near the airport and return to their homes. The travelers are at the receiving end because the heavy snowfall is affecting every mode of transport in and around the UK. The Gatwick airport authorities said that they are trying their level best to keep things functional. However, the weather office has indicated the inclement weather will continue. Gatwick had to cancel as many as 600 flights owing to the snowfall.
The website of Gatwick airport says “Due to the current weather conditions, departing and arriving flights at Gatwick will be severely disrupted.” It has also alerted passengers to check out the site and the airlines before approaching the airport in coming days. Some of the passengers are frustrated at the delay and problems.
