Jamba Juice will open franchise stores in S. Korea

EMERYVILLE, Calif. — Jamba Inc., which operates Jamba Juice stores, said Monday it agreed to work with a franchiser to open 200 Jamba Juice locations in the next 10 years in South Korea.

Jamba agreed to develop the locations with Paris Croissant, an affiliate of the SPC Group, which has 4,500 retail locations in South Korea across several brands, including Paris Baguette.

In addition, Jamba Juice expects to add up to 50 new domestic franchise locations in 2010. There are now 287 franchise stores and 458 company-owned stores.

Shares closed down a penny at $2.24 on Monday.
