Obama to give latest on attempted bombing

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will give another update on the security review into the attempted Christmas Day bombing of an airliner flying into Detroit.

He let his top security people know this week that he wants intelligence agencies connecting the dots better so nothing like it can happen again. Obama will speak to reporters in the State Dining Room at the White House.

Later, the president and Vice President Joe Biden meet separately with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Oval Office.

In the morning, before the president’s remarks, both he and the vice president get their daily briefings. Then Obama will meet with senior advisers.
