Afghanistan: 4 US troops killed in attacks

KABUL — NATO has announced the deaths of two more U.S. service members in separate attacks in Afghanistan. That raises the total number killed on Wednesday to four.

A statement says one American died in fighting in eastern Afghanistan while another died of wounds suffered in a roadside bombing in the south.

NATO said earlier that a bomb killed two American troops died in a bomb blast but disclosed no other information.

The deaths brought to 14 the number of U.S. troops killed in Afghanistan so far this year.

France also says a a French soldier was killed Wednesday in a roadside bomb attack northeast of the Afghan capital.
