WASHINGTON - In an attempt to root out corruption in Afghanistan, the United States is reportedly debating whether Afghan President Hamid Karzai should be given any veto power over anticorruption efforts in his country.
WASHINGTON - General David Petraeus, who was appointed to replace former General Stanley McChrystal as the top US Commander in Afghanistan in June, has conceded that a successful counterinsurgency campaign could take up to ten more years, but said he intended to stick to the 2011 draw down date.
