LONDON - A US woman who was claimed to be the world’s oldest person has died aged 114-year-old, a media report said here Tuesday.

Eunice G. Sanborn of Jacksonville, Texas, passed away Monday at her home, The Sun reported.

A Los Angeles-based research group had listed Sanborn as the world’s oldest person based on data from the 1900 census.

The group’s spokesman, Robert Young, said the title now passes to 114-year-old Besse Cooper of Georgia, the US.

Sanborn claimed the oldest person title Nov 4 when the previous record holder Eugenie Blanchard, a French nun, died on the Caribbean island of St. Barts.
