Lawyer to explain his role in McCourt divorce case
LOS ANGELES — The Boston attorney who represented Jamie and Frank McCourt is expected to testify at the couple’s divorce trial.
Larry Silverstein will have to tell a judge in Los Angeles Tuesday why there are three versions of a postnuptial marital agreement he drafted for the couple that says the Los Angeles Dodgers belong solely to Frank McCourt.
Three other versions of the agreement written by Silverstein say the team doesn’t belong only to Frank McCourt.
Silverstein gave the McCourts the copies to sign in March 2004 shortly after the Dodgers were bought for about $430 million.
The fate of the club could hinge on whether Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon decides whether the pact is valid or isn’t. He could order the sale of the team.
