Tetra Tech to buy Canada-based EBA Engineering

PASADENA, Calif. — Tetra Tech will buy a Canadian scientific and engineering services firm, the company said Wednesday, though terms were not disclosed.

EBA Engineering Consultants Ltd., based in Edmonton, Alberta, will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary under the name EBA, A Tetra Tech Company.

It is Tetra’s second major deal in Canada in as many years. Last year it bought Wardrop Engineering.

EBA has 600 employees in 10 offices in northwestern Canada. Tetra Tech will now have 1,800 employees in Canada.

The deal is expected to be boost profits in the first year.

Shares of Tetra Tech Inc. rose 8 cents to $20.83 in afternoon trading Monday.
