Summary Box: Copper dips as China imports fall
COPPER CUTBACK: A report showed China cut its copper imports in June by more than 17 percent compared with the previous month.
PRICE DIP: Copper for September delivery fell 4.45 cents to settle at $3.009 a pound after the disappointing report. China is the world’s largest importer of copper.
SOYBEANS JUMP: Soybean prices jumped again as the supply of beans dries up while demand remains high. Beans for August delivery rose above $10 a bushel for the first time since early May.
