Union backing Station Casinos organization push

LAS VEGAS — Union leaders are accusing Las Vegas casino operator Station Casinos of being too aggressive in preventing workers from organizing.

The chain’s workers have accused managers of intimidating workers trying to form unions and gain representation. Station owns all or part of 18 Las Vegas-area casinos.

Culinary Workers Union Local 226 President Geoconda Arguello-Kline (gee-oh-CON’-da arg-WELL’-oh Kline) told Station workers Wednesday that the union will stand behind them.

A National Labor Relations Board hearing is set Aug. 16 in Las Vegas on a 127-count complaint that the union calls the largest ever against a Nevada casino company.

A Station Casinos spokeswoman didn’t immediately return a phone call from The Associated Press.
