Karzai: US-Afghan links stronger than ever

WASHINGTON — Afghan President Hamid Karzai (HAH’-mihd KAR’-zeye) says the United States and Afghanistan are much more strongly linked now than at any time in the past decade.

At a White House news conference, Karzai also said tensions with President Barack Obama were not a negative development, but reflect a deep and strong relationship between Washington and Kabul.

Both leaders acknowledged difficulties and frank talks, but Karzai said, “We are much more strongly related to each other today than we ever were before.”
