Cambridge University students present news in the buff

LONDON - A bulletin broadcast by Cambridge University Television could end up facing a police investigation after its presenters read the news wearing nothing but their spectacles.tudent newscasters Seb Dunnett and a blonde named only as “Jane Doe” begin the first edition of the Naked News programme dressed in their traditional gowns.
But they quickly strip off in front of the clock at Cambridge’s Corpus Christi College.
After an opening sequence taking in the city’s historic buildings, the pair sat behind a desk and read the headlines on topics ranging from rugby to celebrity gossip.
In the broadcast they call each other Jane and John and sign off with the slogan: “We’ve been the Naked News giving you the naked truth.”
Then they cycle off naked through the city streets.
Jane Doe is seen preserving her modesty by sticking the station’s light blue CU:TV stickers over her breasts and frontal shots are covered by computer-generated images.
The three-minute programme, which is expected to be broadcast weekly, has been put on the YouTube website.
The students admitted getting some strange looks as they filmed early on March 3 before the city became too crowded.
“We want to create comedy personas for John and Jane. They take themselves very seriously,” the Daily Express quoted natural sciences student Jane, 21, as saying.
“I took a lot of convincing to take all my clothes off. We were just wearing gowns and it was freezing but I’m looking forward to doing the next episode,” she stated.
Dunnett, 20, a natural sciences student at Homerton College, added: “I’d definitely be up for having another go. It feels liberating.”
Cambridgeshire police said they would not intervene but warned they might need to investigate if members of the public complained.
A Cambridge University spokesman declined to comment. (ANI)
