White House to welcome French president next month

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will welcome France’s President Nicolas Sarkozy to the White House on March 30.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs on Tuesday announced the French president’s visit. Gibbs says Sarkozy and Obama would hold meetings and have a private dinner.

Gibbs says France is an invaluable partner with the United States. Gibbs also says the French and American people share deep ties and goals for international affairs.
