Pakistan: US missile strike kills at least 3
DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan — Pakistani intelligence officials say a suspected U.S. missile strike in northwestern Pakistan has killed at least three people.
The two officials said Thursday’s attack struck a house in the Dande Darpa Khel area of North Waziristan, near the border with Afghanistan. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly to the media.
Missile strikes targeting militants have escalated in Pakistan’s volatile North and South Waziristan tribal regions since December when a bomber backed by the Pakistani Taliban killed seven CIA employees in Afghanistan.
