ISLAMABAD - Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's offer for discussions, including on autonomy for Jammu and Kashmir, is an effort to distract the Kashmiris from their freedom struggle "which is on the verge of success", an editorial in a Pakistani Urdu daily said Friday.
ISLAMABAD - A Pakistani political analyst has said that through corruption and negligence when the country is reeling under the worst floods in its history, the politicians are cutting away at the future of democracy in Pakistan.
ISLAMABAD - Adviser to Syed Qaim Ali Shah, the Sindh Chief Minister, Sharmila Farooqui, has alleged that Pakistan's media is suffering from "Zardari phobia."
ISLAMABAD - Pakistan's Law and Parliamentary Affairs minister Babar Awan has slammed former premier Nawaz Sharif for targeting President Asif Ali Zardari and the federal government during his visits to the flood affected areas in the country rather than focussing on the "agonies" of the people, which is creating a big hurdle in the way of international aid and financial assistance by international community for victims.
ISLAMABAD - Pakistan's Ambassador to the United Nations, Hussain Haroon, has said that his country is trying for a UN General Assembly debate on the flood situation, and making all-out efforts for international aid.
