BEIJING - A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman has negated South Korean claims that China is sending troops to the North for protecting its citizens in that country, terming them as "sheer fabrication."
BEIJING - Chinese President Hu Jintao has described his country as a developing country, and being a long way off from "modernisation".
BEIJING - Nearly 50 percent of Chinese participating in a survey organised jointly by the China Daily and Horizon Research Consultancy Group believe that ties between Beijing and Washington is "very important" despite the problematic situations that existed between the two countries in the recent past.
BEIJING - As Chinese President Hu Jintao prepares to visit Washington this week in an attempt to defuse tensions with the United States, Obama administration officials are grappling with what they describe as a more complex reality-China being far wealthier and more influential than the United States.
BEIJING - China will seek to find common ground with the United States in a bid to resolve existing bilateral disputes, said President Hu Jintao ahead of his visit to Washington scheduled for later this week.
