THIRUVANANTHAPURAM - Defence Minister A.K.Antony has handed over all his gift collections to the Kerala Legislative Assembly in Thiruvananthapuram.

Antony, who gave away all his gifts to the state assembly, on Saturday said: “All the gifts I received during my three terms as the Chief Minister (of Kerala), and also those I received while I was the Civil Supplies Minister in the centre along with those I got during my three years as the Defence Minister, I gave to our museum (Kerala Museum).”

“When I met our speaker once, he said that the assembly is starting a museum and I have not given anything to it. So I decided to give all those gifts I received during the past one year to the museum, which would be started with the initiative of our speaker,” he added.

Antony handed over about 717 gifts that he received during his stint as Defence Minister in the last one year and further the gifts would be showcased in the assembly museum later.

Kerala Assembly Speaker K. Radhakrishnan received the collection from Antony at a function, which was attended by many leaders of the regional Congress party. (ANI)
