LONDON - The University where Prince William and Kate Middleton met has created a special scholarship in their honour as a wedding present.
The couple’s visit to the University of St Andrews in Fife today is their first official engagement in Scotland ahead of their marriage on April 29.
The two studied the history of art together at the university and shared a house in the town.
The scholarship of up to 70,000 pounds, will meet the costs of a four-year undergraduate degree and will be awarded each year to a student who would have been unable to attend St Andrews without such financial support, reports the Daily Express.
“It will guarantee that bright students who might otherwise have been unable to go to university can fulfil their potential,” said Professor Louise Richardson, the university’s principal and vice-chancellor. (ANI)
