JAMMU - Veteran journalist Dileep Padgaonkar, who is heading the team of interlocutors appointed by the Central Government, today said that a document containing the contours of a political settlement of Kashmir issue will be submitted to the Centre within two weeks.

Addressing a press conference here, Padgaonkar said: “We are going to present the initial document of the contours of political settlement within the next two weeks. We obviously will not be able to factor in what the separatists want, because the separatists have decided not to talk to us.”

” So what do you expect us to do? If they were to at least to send us their published documents on where that stand, we will certainly factor those in as well. In the meantime, we simply want to go ahead and to reach out to all other stake holders in Jammu and Kashmir, because we believe that no one group of the stake holders can hold the entire Dialogue process to ransom,” he added.

The three-member panel comprising Dileep Padgaonkar, M M Ansari and Prof Radha Kumar have extended several invitations to the separatist groups to join the talks but up till now all of them stand futile as Miwaiz Farooq and Syed Ali Shah Geelani are demanding to Implement their five point agenda first.

“We have taken into account four point of Mirwaiz and Yaseen Malik and also the Five point of Geelani Sahib. Essentially those were confidence building measures to create a conducive atmosphere and certainly we have incorporated them,” said Radha Kumar. By Tahir Nadeem Khan (ANI)
