LONDON - A restaurant in Britain is daring its customers to finish up a plate containing different kinds of meat with over 5,000 calories.
Anyone who takes up the ‘If You Dare Grill’ has to eat all 5,300 calories - or 3lbs - in one sitting, and if successful will be given a T-shirt and a free dessert.
The plate has a rack of ribs, an 8oz gammon steak and rump steak, two lamb chops, two pork loin chops, four home-made sausages, two eggs, two pineapple rings, four onion rings, four mushrooms, a grilled tomato, coleslaw and chips, are all about having fun.
Andrew Danniells, who owns The Steak House in Bridgwater, Somerset, insists that the calorie-laden dish, which costs 27 pounds, is all about having fun.
“I smoke but could that cause a heart attack? They say red wine is bad for you too. Red meat is good for you and if someone wants to eat all that, it is going to be a big bloke anyway,” the Daily Mail quoted him as saying.
“We are ordering the T-shirts in extra large and above as if someone is not that size when they sit down to eat, they certainly will be afterwards!” he stated.
Danniells said no customer has yet tried the mammoth ‘If You Dare Grill’.
“I don’t think it will be long before some of our regulars give it a go. We are not going to force anyone to eat it and they can take as long as they like,” he said.
“People have said to me it’s bad for you but nowadays everything is bad for you.
“We have some big steak eaters in the town and we have found many people have eyes that are bigger than their belly so we put together the meat feast as a real challenge!
“We don’t believe anyone in the region offers better value for money with their portions and although the meat feast may be over the top for most people it shows the value of our steak meals,” he added. (ANI)
