91 year old beats all odds, rappels across 1200 feet deep valley

LONAVALA - Narayan Krishna Mahajan, a 91-year-old rappelled across a 1200 feet long deep valley in Maharashtra.
Mahajan climbed a mountain located 3,500 feet above sea level without any help or assistance. He used a walking stick as an occasional aid.
He tied himself with ropes to undertake the task of rappelling from the top of the peak to the peak of another hill near the Lonavala on Sunday.
“I don’t consider myself as old, because I believe that if one’s attitude is strong, the body would also be fit. The body should be maintained healthy since childhood. I have done this to boost the morale of the youngsters and they don’t get scared and participate in such activities,” said Mahajan.
Anand Munje of Kitty Hawk Foundation, a forum dedicated to outdoor adventure pursuits, said that Mahajan’s act would be sent to Limca Book of Records for endorsement.
Mahajan said that he was not aiming to set a record, but wanted to encourage people to lead healthy and active lives.e further added that adventure pursuits are not ‘one versus another’ but which pep up the morale of an individual and even a team if organised in a group. (ANI)
