LONDON - Millions of women marched the streets of Italy to call for the resignation of PM Silvio Berlusconi, who has been tangled in one scandal after another.

Marches were held in 200 towns and cities, including Rome, Milan, Genoa and Naples.

The PM is currently charged with under-age sex with a prostitute, Moroccan belly dancer Karima El Mahroug, 17, and abuse of power.

Banners carried by protestors read “Berlusconi unworthy” and “Italy is not a brothel”.

The PM denies all the charges, reports the Daily Express.

Bruno Masucci, a marcher from Rome, said, “I’m here to defend the rights of women.”

Education minister, Mariastella Gelmini, said: “It’s just a small protest from trendy radical chicks.” (ANI)
