LONDON - A British girl has come forward to reveal the ordeal she went through at the hands of her ex-lover, a British-born man of Pakistani origin, who orchestrated the biggest sex-abuse ring ever in UK.

Toni-Marie Redfern thought she had found the perfect boyfriend when she met Abid Mohammed Saddique, as he was polite, handsome, seven years her senior, drove a silver BMW, wore designer suits and bought her dinner at her favourite pizza cafe.

But when she eventually came to know the truth about Saddique, who had asked her to marry him even though he was already married to a Muslim woman, she was furious.

“I felt something wasn’t right from the moment I met Saddique. Even early on, I was thinking: ‘What have you got yourself into?’” the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.

“Although I thought it was all a bit weird - someone just coming up to us and chatting - I was flattered by the attention.

“As I became more involved with him, it felt like there was no way out. It seemed like I didn’t have a choice as he was so controlling. He said I was supposed to wear things that covered my arms and he encouraged me to convert to Islam.

She decided to leave him when he stopped his charming act and started assaulting her, but even then he kept on calling and texting her, even threatening her.

“In one of the last conversations I had with him, he referred to his Land Rover as the ‘Rape Rover’. That is when I knew I had to escape. I’d had enough,” she said.

Eventually, in April 2009, police officers tracking the gang leader’s movements visited Redfern to interview her, and it was then she came to know time that her ex-boyfriend was a serial sex predator.

Stunned, she spent four hours giving police a statement, recalling every detail of their two-year relationship. (ANI)
