SAN FRANCISCO BAY (GaeaTimes.com)- The cops managed to stop a distraught man from committing suicide at Dumbarton Bridge yesterday at San Francisco bay region. The two hour suspense resulted in rush hour traffic on both side of the bridge getting affected adversely. The authorities did not want to take risk and the traffic access to the bridge was closed for some time. The eastward access was stopped at University Avenue. The California Highway Patrol Cops said that they had to think about the safety of the man and also added that it was hard to reason with him with the traffic in full swing. The Menlo Park police said that they were informed about the man by Tuesday afternoon.
The man who threatened to hang himself at Dumbarton Bridge was apparently angry and upset for some reason. At first no one could get close to the man but later Menlo Park cops manged to coax him. The man was taken to San Mateo Medical Center to see if he had any mental issues. The commuters stuck on both sides of the bridge were not much amused as anyone can understand. Some of them did not even know why traffic was closed. After 4.45 pm the bridge was reopened.
