LONDON - A TB sufferer in UK, who had been given just six months to live in 1951, is now celebrating his 60th diamond wedding anniversary.

Terry Capes was so ill with tuberculosis that he arrived at his nupitals on a stretcher.

Doctors had given him just six months to live, but his fiancee Pat decided not to him.

Fortunately for the couple, those fears were proved wrong.

And 60 years on, they are celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary.

“It was a very, very unusual wedding but we wanted to do it,” the Daily Mail quoted Pat as saying.

“We didn’t want Terry to know how ill he was and that the doctor had said he only had six months to live. We didn’t want the prediction to come true. He was young and healthy and we wanted to believe he could beat it - and he did,” she added.

Terry finally recovered in 1953. (ANI)
