MADURAI - A Madurai court has issued non-bailable warrants against former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam and 19 other All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leaders in a case filed against them for allegedly damaging public property during an assembly by-election in 2008.

Judicial Magistrate of Tirumangalam issued the warrants on Friday.

According to reports, a case was filed against the AIADMK leaders for allegedly damaging vehicles and other public property during by-election to Tirumangalam Assembly constituency in December 2008.

The police said that Panneerselvam and others had not obtained any anticipatory bail, so they were treated as absconding and chargesheets were filed against them. (ANI)
