NEW DELHI - The Delhi Metro Friday organised a workshop for its station staff on providing assistance to women and children abandoned in its premises.
A Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) official said workshop at the Metro’s training school at Shastri Park was attended by all the station managers and assistant station managers.
The sessions focussed on necessary communication skills for interacting with the abandoned people, immediate liaison with the police and concerned agencies, besides their rehabilitation in a secured environment.
Also, experts from an NGO provided an in-depth presentation to the Metro staff about the ways in which immediate help and assistance could be provided in such cases, the official said.
The official said the Metro was also planning to sensitise its Citizens’ Forum volunteers on rendering help to these people.
