LONDON - The world’s most expensive advent calendar, which is made up of 24 diamonds, carved glass angels and gold filling, has been priced at 1.7 million pounds.

The filigree glass artwork has carved numbers representing the days up to Christmas, and also included are diamond shaped fairies along with small parcels of 100-quarter carat diamonds.

The calendar, created by Belgian company Octagon Blue GCV, weighs a whopping 81 carats.

The price tag includes the design of an exclusive piece of jewellery based on the customers’ wishes by the renowned jewellery studio Biegel, in Frankfurt, but it is not inclusive of VAT.

“This is a very special piece which is truly stunning,” the Daily Mail quoted Octagon Blue GCV director Oscar Brethouwer as saying.

“We’ve had several celebrities enquire about it and it’s not difficult to see why it has generated so much interest.

“We had 50 expert staff working 20 hour days to create it in time for Christmas. We’re very pleased with the calendar and I’m sure it will make someone very happy this Christmas,” he stated.

The calendar is also available for advertising purposes and money raised will be donated to charity, along with some of the price tag. (ANI)
