Parents mark missing Oregon boy’s 8th birthday
PORTLAND, Ore. — The birthday boy is missing, but Kyron Horman’s parents are holding parties to mark his eighth birthday anyway.
His father, Kaine Horman, told The Oregonian he’s doing something Kyron loves, regardless of where his son is. The boy’s birthday is Thursday.
Kyron disappeared after his stepmother dropped him off at his Portland school on June 4.
Investigators have focused on the stepmother, Terri Moulton Horman, but have not arrested her or called her a suspect in the disappearance. Kaine Horman has filed for divorce from Terri Moulton Horman.
Kyron’s mother, Desiree Young, is hosting a gathering with cake and ice cream Thursday night at a church in Medford, where they will release red balloons. Kaine Horman is hosting a party Sunday at a restaurant.
