NEW DELHI - Ragas gave a healing touch at the Chinmaya Mission auditorium here when renowned classical singer Shubha Mudgal rendered verses of Kabir at a fundraiser for cancer patients.

Talented musicians Sudhir Nayak and Aneesh Pradhan accompanied Mudgal on the harmonium and tabla, leaving the audience asking for more till the end on Saturday evening.

“Jheeni Chadariya”, which Mudgal sang at the event, touched a heartfelt chord with its spiritual overtones.

Organised by Can Support, a non-profit organisation working for the underprivileged and advanced cancer patients, the proceeds from the show will be spent on treatment and homecare services for cancer patients.

The NGO has been involved with free of charge care and treatment of cancer patients in the capital for over a decade.

“It’s a shared effort. Apart from the medical aid, it’s the emotional support that the cancer patients need from family. It has to be a shared effort,” said Harmala Gupta, the founder director of the Can Support organisation.

The event was attended by over 350 enthusiasts and generous donors. All the artistes expressed their gratefulness for being a part of the cause.
