Downed tree in Pennsylvania leads to Amtrak delays
TRENTON, N.J. — Amtrak says it is still fixing a signal problem that has left rail riders facing delays between New York City and Philadelphia.
Amtrak spokeswoman Cliff Cole says a downed tree near Morrisville, Pa., caused a power outage around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. Cole says workers are in the process of restoring signals.
Amtrak trains can operate at slow speeds and are running between 90 minutes to 2 hours late between Manhattan and Philadelphia. Amtrak also has canceled three trains and terminated others in Philadelphia.
NJ Transit doesn’t have train service between Trenton and New Brunswick.
