Obama to make another plea for relief funding
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is joining with teachers this morning to urge the House to pass legislation that would help keep 160,000 of them on the job.
At a Rose Garden ceremony, Obama is also expected to highlight the help the bills would give to states facing severe budget problems.
In the afternoon, the president will take part in an ambassador credentialing ceremony in the Oval Office. It’s a traditional event marking the formal beginning of the ambassadors’ service in Washington. Representatives of 11 countries will take part, almost half of them from Africa.
Obama will also meet with Defense Secretary Robert Gates in the Oval Office.
