NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The Commonwealth Games 2010 is just two months away and New Delhi, the host city this year, is leaving no stone unturned to assure that visitors at the Games receive the best hospitality services from India. Among others the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is introducing new methods to make the national and international visitors’ stay at the city a memorable one.

According to reports, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will set up information booths in 25 underground metro stations across New Delhi before the start of the Commonwealth Games in the month of October. These information kiosks will not only provide the necessary information on the Games but also guide tourists from within and outside the country to various spots of tourist interest in the capital, educating the people on the rich historical and cultural traditions of New Delhi. The Digital Information Pods or DIPs will be installed soon in the 25 Delhi metro stations.

Anyone visiting Delhi and unknown to the place have reason to rejoice because Anuj Dayal, a spokesman of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has announced that the information kiosks will operate even after the end of the Commonwealth Games this year. So from now on a visitor to the city of New Delhi does not have to ask a stranger about the whereabouts, he should rather visit the information booths inside the metro stations. Some of the proposed metro stations to have the information kiosks are Rajiv Chowk, Kashmere Gate, Central Secretariat, Barakhamba Road, INA, AIIMS, JLN Stadium, Vidhan Sabha, Viswavidyalaya, Chandni Chowk, Model Town, Khan Market, Race Course, Jor Bagh, New Delhi, GTB Road, Civil Lines, Chawri Bazar, Malviya Nagar, Hauz Khas, Saket and Udyog Bhawan.
