Holder in Kabul for talks with Afghan officials
WASHINGTON — U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is in Kabul for talks with Afghan officials, the Justice Department says.
Holder’s agenda during his brief visit includes discussions on ways to build relationships between law enforcement agencies and prosecutors in the two countries, the department said in a statement.
Holder says the United States will continue working with the Afghan government to create an “effective criminal justice system.”
He says fighting corruption and “supporting the rule of law” in Afghanistan are top Obama administration priorities.
