TOLEDO, Ohio — An Ohio autoworker who bought a winning Powerball ticket for his Detroit co-workers has won a lottery jackpot before.
The owner of the Toledo-area store that sold the ticket says William Shanteau, of Curtice (KUR’-tis), won a $100,000 jackpot about six years ago.
Shanteau and 13 other Chrysler employees, who live in Michigan, hold one of two winning tickets in a $96.9 million Powerball drawing from last week. They claimed their prize Monday and chose to take a lump-sum cash payment, worth about $25.1 million. After taxes, each autoworker gets $1.2 million.
Shanteau told lottery officials that he had a dream the night before the drawing that they had won.
Carryout owner Shirley Loofborow says Shanteau already has splurged on a new Corvette.
