Networking component developer Finisar returns former board member Child to director post

Finisar names Michael Child to board
SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Finisar Corp., which develops fiber optic networking equipment, said Thursday it has appointed Michael C. Child to its board of directors.
Child is managing director of Boston-based private equity firm TA Associates Inc. and has previously served on boards for more than 20 companies, including Finisar’s from 1998 to 2005.
Child will serve on Finisar’s compensation committee, the company said.
Finisar shares slipped 17 cents to $15.66 in aftermarket trading. The stock added 7 cents to $15.83 during the regular session.
