Swedish domestic flights disrupted by pilot strike
STOCKHOLM — Union officials say around 230 pilots at four Swedish domestic airlines have gone on strike.
The Swedish Airline Pilots Association says the pilots began their job action Monday to protest the airlines’ demands to be allowed to employ freelance pilots and to bypass employment regulations in collective bargaining agreements.
Union chairman Gunnar Mandahl says the strike will continue until Wednesday unless the parties reach an agreement.
The strike is affecting Avia Express, Golden Air, Avitrans Nordic and Svenskt Direktflyg.
The airlines called the job action regrettable.
