BANGALORE - Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Ajai Kumar Singh on Saturday said the bullet that was fired from a country made weapon was not aimed at Art of Living (AoL) founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

“The firing was done to scare away the wild dogs,” added Singh.

The Karnataka Polive quizzed Mahadev Prasad, who has ten acres of land right next to the Art of Living (AoL) ashram on Kanakapura road, in coonection with the firing incident on AoL founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Prasad reportedly fired three shots to scare away wild dogs from attacking his cattle, one of which accidentally landed in the ashram.

The Ramanagaram district police recovered the bullet and sent it for analysis to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) .They also matched the bullet with that in the farmer’s pistol and found they were of the same make. This was also confirmed by the FSL.

The firing took place on May 30 when Sri Sri Ravishankar was returning to his ashram after delivering a discourse on Sunday evening. (ANI)
