Obama: My poll numbers are doing all right
WASHINGTON — White House officials may like to say they’re not paying attention to the polls, but President Barack Obama himself is keeping an eye on his approval ratings.
In an interview with CNN’s Larry King, Obama says that despite the economic crisis, two wars and a host of other crises that have popped up during his first 16 months in office, his poll numbers are “doing all right.”
An Associated Press-GfK poll conducted last month suggests 49 percent of Americans approve of Obama’s job performance. That’s down from 56 percent at the start of the year.
Obama’s interview with King airs Thursday night.
