Obama leaving Katrina comparisons to others

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama says he’s confident that people will look back on his response to the Gulf oil spill and say the administration was on top of what he called an “unprecedented crisis.”

At a White House press conference Thursday, the president said he’d leave it to others to compare this situation to what happened when Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast.

Obama said instead he’s spending his time thinking about how to solve the problem.
