2 US soldiers die in incidents in Iraq

BAGHDAD — The U.S. military says two American soldiers have died in separate incidents in northern Iraq.

A military statement on Saturday says one U.S. Division-North soldier was killed Friday near Mosul and that the incident is under investigation.

A second statement says another U.S. Division-North soldier died on Thursday of injuries sustained in a non-combat related incident. It says the circumstances surrounding that incident are also under investigation.

The deaths raise to at least 4,399 the number of U.S. military personnel who have died in Iraq since the war began in March 2003. That’s according to an Associated Press count.
