Thune: Obama has delivered a ‘change’ too far
OXON HILL, Md. — Sen. John Thune says fellow Republicans heading into the November midterm elections should highlight just how much President Barack Obama has delivered on his promise of change.
He cited Obama’s massive health care overhaul and the multibillion-dollar economic stimulus plan as examples of too much change.
Thune was speaking Tuesday evening to state party chairmen. He told them their No. 1 message to voters should be the economy. He also said Republicans must be tough on national security and highlight differences between Republican Party and Democratic Party values.
Thune says “the differences could not be more important.”
Thune said Congress must rein in spending and stop borrowing from China to finance new projects.
