Delhi Police Confident On Commonwealth

NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Y. S. Dadwal, the Police commissioner of Delhi expressed his confidence that Delhi is prepared and quite safe for the upcoming Common wealth game recently. The statement is aimed to dispel the worries of the Western countries that consider the city to be unsafe for travel. He reiterated his view that the security will be top notch during the games and the delegates as well as the game lovers can be assured of having a nice time. Steps have been taken to tackle with untoward incidents lest they take place. The Police commissioner said that there would be no compromise on security level.

When he was asked about the warnings issued by some countries about the security level in Delhi he refuted such claims. However, some media entities have reported that certain market places in Delhi, which are known as soft targets by terrorist and extremist groups, are not adequately protected. The Police commissioner said that security measures will not only cover the stadiums and venues alone. On the contrary, the places where the delegates will be kept will also be guarded. The hotels and transport venues including the Indira Gandhi International Airport will have increased security cover.

Apart from Security measures, Delhi Police has also taken step to ensure that the traffic disruption does not prove to be a bottleneck during the Common wealth games. The Genuine ticket holders will not have any problems in accessing the stadiums as he said. The chief minister of Delhi is also worried about the security and she wasn’t the security level to be heightened for the games.
