Tampa airport locks down 1 terminal over security
TAMPA, Fla. — One terminal is locked down and passengers are being rescreened at Tampa International Airport because of an unspecified security incident.
Passengers are not being allowed to leave or enter Terminal C at the Florida airport, where Southwest Airlines and some Spirit Air flights are boarded.
Airport spokeswoman Brenda Geoghagan says the Transportation Security Administration is putting all the people inside Terminal C back through security screening.
Geoghagan calls it a “security incident” that began about 1 p.m Wednesday.
Passengers in the main part of the airport are not allowed to board the tram to Terminal C, and those inside Terminal C are not able to enter the main airport area.
