Kulgam (Jammu and Kashmir), Mar 26(ANI): The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) recently organized a day camp for free health check up and remedial treatment at Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
The 163 battalion of the CRPF hosted this health camp under the aegis of Civic Action Programme for needy patients in Kulgam.
“This programme is held in the valley by CRPF under the aegis of Civic Action Programme. Its main objective is to decrease the gap between the common masses and the security forces,” said Darshan Kumar, Commandant of the 163 CRPF Battalion, Kulgam.
“It is for the people who live in interiors of these far flung areas of the valley. The programmes are also held to help the elderly, the children and women so as to provide medical facilities to them,” he added.
This humanitarian programme was undertaken by the CRPF as many locals residing in remote areas had to face numerous hardships for the routine healthcare.
“In this area a lot of people were facing problems as they had to travel long distances for facilities, to consult doctors and to get prescription of medicines. We feel blessed that these people (CRPF) have held a camp here and we can come here to consult doctors about our ailments,” Moshin Ahmad, a local said.
“The children, elderly and women tell their problems to the doctors (designated by the CRPF at the health care camp) and they provide treatment,” he added.
The camp had a surgeon, a lady gynaecologist and assorted other specialists to provide specialized medical cover for locals residing in far-flung areas.
On their part, the locals were all praise to the CRPF for organizing such medical camps and help the poor and needy. (ANI)
