Woman cited in icy Ohio crash that flipped officer

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, Ohio — An Ohio woman has been ticketed in an accident captured in dramatic video that showed a police officer flipping over a guardrail.

Brooklyn Heights police in suburban Cleveland cited Kathryn Dagostino, of Sagamore Hills, on Wednesday with losing control of her car. She faces a court hearing this month and could be fined.

Police dashcam video showed Dagostino going to the aid of Lt. John Lambert after the Feb. 27 accident. He was helping a stranded motorist on an icy highway ramp when Dagostino’s car slid toward them. Lambert pushed the first driver out of the way before he was sent flying.

The 42-year-old Lambert remains hospitalized with a broken pelvis and other injuries.

Dagostino could not be reached. There was no phone listing for her in Sagamore Hills.
